About Dell

Dell started out as a DJ in the seventies, he ran many rock n roll clubs over the years and the longest running club was The Clay Pigeon which lasted 10 years! He was involved in a pirate radio show based in North London called 'Radio Memphis'. In those days the station was proud to reach a radius of seven miles but then again they only had a car battery and a washing line as an aerial. Dell's break came in 93 when he was asked to run a rock n roll show on the London based Astra satellite station Country Music Radio, he show was called Good Rockin' Tonight. He stayed for 4 years until the station closed. He then moved his show to another satellite station in London called Merlin Network One. Sadly, this only lasted 7 months! In 98 Dell was asked by Peter Moore to join Radio Caroline. His show ran weekly for many years on a Friday until three years ago when he changed to a Tuesday night which suited him better. On his rock n roll show he features the classic sounds of the fifties and early sixties (pre-Beatles). He also plays those 'rare' and obscure tracks that never hit the charts! He likes to give new bands on the scene today who recreate the sounds of rock n roll, rockabilly and doo-wop. Every week he has a competition with prizes. He runs a radio club to raise money for The Radio Caroline Supporters Group! Every week a lucky membership number is picked and prizes are sent out. Many guest's have appeared on Dell's show like Bruce Welch, Jet Harris, Billie Davis, Craig Douglas, Charles Blackwell, Emile Ford, Russ Sainty and dozens more! Dell loves his rock n roll with a passion! Tune in and get your rockin' shoes on!
